Angeline Kasipo hogged the limelight when recently she pledged loyalty to Nelson Chamisa despite the danger of angering Thokozani Khupe and getting recalled.
She is Councillor for Ward 10 in Kwekwe and has also made history as the first female Mayor of Kwekwe after assuming office in September 2018.
Kasipo will also be the only female panelist at the Mayor’s Forum.
According to Pindula at the time of her appointment as the Kwekwe Mayor she was the chairperson of the National Council of Social Workers of Zimbabwe and it was her third year at the helm.
She resigned from that position so that she concentrates on her new challenge.
She also runs her own business and she thinks she is not doing badly.
I stand with Chamisa
Mayor Kasipo has bravely pledged unwavering loyalty to embattled MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa despite the danger of being recalled from Council by the rival Thokozani Kupe led MDC-T.
“I am an MDC Alliance councillor and my loyalty lies with Chamisa. I am not going anywhere,” said Kasipo, who is also Kwekwe councillor for Ward 10″, she says.
She has also courted controversy after revelations that Kwekwe City Council spent US$70 000 on the acquisition of top of the range vehicles for her and director of health services Mrs Marry Muchekeza.
At the Mayor’s Forum she will be part of a panel that also includes Masvingo Mayor Collin Maboke, Chitungwiza’s Lovemore Maiko, Norton’s Mayor Gumisirai and Mutare’s Blessing Tandi.
