Water challenges in Epworth, a dormitory town outside Harare, have resulted in the increased use of open and unsafe wells in the nearby bushes which could result in disease outbreaks.
Open Council Harare visited the area and the images show a dangerous situation.
Epworth residents in Ward 5, 6 and 7 are now fetching water in bush streams and wells for uses such as cooking, laundry, bathing, washing dishes and other household chores.
A health scare is now looming in Epworth as residents continue accessing unclean water from bush streams that could easily result in waterborne epidemics such as typhoid and cholera.
