Combative legislator Temba Mliswa has hit back at the Government and businessman Billy Rautenbach following the emergence of a shady letter stating that Rautenbach has title deeds to land at the centre of a dispute.
A Ministry of Justice letter emerged this week stating that Marimba Residential Properties Limited, owned by Rautenbach, has title deeds to Aspindale 47 and 48.
The same area is also being claimed by a group of cooperatives in Kambuzuma.
However in a strange turn of events the Ministry also added that it cannot locate a deeds book which would have brought clarity to the matter.
Norton MP Mliswa has however dismissed the letter and the supposed disappearance of the deeds book as criminal and corrupt activities of a cabal that has been paid money.
“This is corruption of the highest order, people have been clearly paid to come up with this shoddy plan.
“How can a whole deeds book disappear in such a criminally convenient manner?
Mliswa produced a letter dated June 2018 in which the Chief Registrar stated that no company called Marimba Properties existed and queried how the same entity could then be said to have title deeds when it did not exist.
“The Chief Registrar is on record stating that Marimba Properties does not exist, it’s not there.
“This is the biggest corruption ever. It cannot continue like this and has to be investigated. This is another Drax in the Rothmans property”, he added.
Mliswa, who has been roped-in by the cooperative members to advance their cause within political offices dismissed the bequeathing of the land to Rautenbach through a letter.
“Ownership is by title deed and not through mere letters, these people won’t go anywhere. If the alleged owners need to remove them they should go to court for a Court Order.
“How shameful that a whole Ministry goes against its people so as to please one white man (Rautenbach)”.
Residents of the area contend that they have an offer letter from government for the same area though they are allegations that current Local Government Minister July Moyo withdrew the letter.
This was alleged to be a move to facilitate for the takeover by Rautenbach who is a known ZANU PF benefactor.
Rautenbach, currently developing another medium density location along High Glen road adjacent the land under contestation, has since advised the residents to approach his offices for new terms of contract which involve exorbitant payments in US$.
This report is without substance, ill-informed and highly misleading. The current, correct and uncontested position is as reported on 2nd Feb 2020, which is that the High Court nullified the purported withdrawal of Offer Letters to the housing coops. A Court Order to this effect is a matter of public record. How can a mere letter supposedly written in 2018 supercede a 2020 High Court Order? Mr Reporter please research before you publish nonsense here.
