Norton has become the latest town to carry out a Covid-19 disinfecting program after the spraying of hotspots and populous areas.
The program, funded by a wellwisher, Mr Tinashe Chinyemba of Lood, was done in conjunction with the Norton Town Council (NTC) and the office of the local legislator Temba Mliswa.
The tanker, which went around on Friday, sprayed hotspots such as Katanga Shopping centre, Norton Hospital and all the main roads in the town.
Commenting about the exercise Norton legislator Temba Mliswa said the move was pivotal for the safety of the town.
“We are very grateful for the support that we have received from Mr Chinyemba so that we can carry out this exercise.”
“It will enhance our safety as a town and I urge all other corporates out there to continue assisting us.
The legislator, together with Chief Superintendent Govo, was part of the program as he went about advising people to stay inside their homes to avoid contact with the sprayed disinfectant.
Harare and Masvingo have also done the same program spraying hotspots and populous areas.
